| I also fuse
glass to make pendants, this is done by layering up pieces of cut
glass and letting them all slump together in a hot kiln.
Obviously all this has to be done
in the workshop, so I need something to do in front of the TV, on the odd
occasion I manage to sit down. So I do Beadweaving and general Jewellery
Making too.
I try to use nice components in my work, but I
have no issues with using plated 'costume findings' should the need occur,
most of my jewellery is not designed for wearing constantly and plated
metals stay shinier longer in the jewellery box :)
I rarely accept commissions,
mainly because I dislike working under pressure or to certain
specifications. I do not/will not mass produce designs, as I tend to
be sick of making them after one or two and like to move onto something else
- however.... if you see something in the Gallery that you simply must have,
do email me and I will see what I can do.
....and if that wasn't enough, I also run THE
BEAD SHED - a Bead Shop in Carlisle, where people can buy all the parts
needed to make their own Jewellery. With the help of my daughter Shona,
we run basic workshops and have a 'drop-in bus' where Beaders can have
taster sessions and learn to do quick & easy jewellery.
